If there was ever one, this is it! Ariodante is the zenith of Haendelian opera: powerful drama, intensely baroque passions, inexhaustible melodic invention. Set in medieval Scotland, the plot abounds in betrayed loves, incandescent anger, overwhelmed despair, and sumptuous arias such as the famous "Scherza infida".

Christophe Rousset is back at work on this work he knows inside out, and has surrounded himself with a sparkling cast: Marie Lys, Margherita Maria Sala, Michèle Bréant and Ève-Maud Hubeaux, who will be taking on the role of Prince Ariodante.
