  • The power of hope

After a memorable St John Passion in Beaune in 2025, Reinoud van Mechelen and A nocte temporis return to Bach. The famous cantata Actus tragicus is without doubt one of the most beautiful pages on farewell and hope for the afterlife. It is associated with the Trauerode, a deeply moving funeral ode composed for the Princess Electress of Saxony, and a rare cantata by Bach's contemporary Telemann.
