Dowland is always talking about love, sometimes disappointed, always melancholy. Simple songs, from which only rare performers know how to draw the essence: Ruby Hughes is one of them. The Welsh soprano, rare in France, is accompanied by lute-player Jonas Nordberg for this sensitive journey through Elizabethan music.
