This museum houses a number of lapidary treasures (fifteen capitals and cornice mouldings made of finely-sculpted white marble), plus antique and Medieval mosaics. The Lapidary Museum was created in 1861 in the former chapel of the Saint-Nicolas-et-Saint-Eloi-en-Marchaux Hospital; on February 1st, 2003, this collection was officially recognised as a "Museum of France".
