The early Gothic church was built between 1200 and 1260 in one piece. It was built of local stone, granite and limestone.

Church of Saint-Gervais and Saint Prothais of Saint-Gervais-sur-Couches (13th century, listed as a Historic Monument on 2 June 1911): 15th century altarpiece and 15th century statues also listed. Very old, it is remarkable for its architecture, an intimate mixture of Gothic and Romanesque styles.

The church is open every year for sure, but most of the time during the beautiful spring and summer days, the church stays open until 9pm.
