The Saint-Lazare Cathedral, adorned by a 15th-century, lofty stone arrow, is still classified as one of the major Cluny-period works of art, with initial building dating back to between 1120 and 1130. The level of architectural perfection, inspired by the grandeur of Cluny and other Romanesque edifices located nearby, almost gets overshadowed by the splendour of the ornately-sculpted decor. The "Last Judgment" tympanum, along with the biblical scenes presented on the capitals and the much-celebrated work entitled "Eve" (on exhibit at the adjacent Rolin Museum), were all sculpted by Gislebertus.
