The level of architectural perfection, inspired by the grandeur of Cluny and other Romanesque edifices located nearby, almost gets overshadowed by the splendour of the ornately-sculpted decor. The "Last Judgment" tympanum, along with the biblical scenes presented on the capitals and the much-celebrated work entitled "Eve" (on exhibit at the adjacent Rolin Museum), were all sculpted by Gislebertus.
