Augustodunum's new show takes you on a magical journey through time to discover the history of Autun and Burgundy over more than 1,500 years.
Step through the gates of time as you plunge into the memories of Dame Guigone, wife of Nicolas Rolin, and discover the poignant history of our beautiful Burgundy through its finest treasures. You'll be immersed in incredible moments such as a fabulous cavalry tournament, the construction of Autun Cathedral and the great Roman games, all set off by special effects and pyrotechnics.

To take you on this journey, we invite you to an exceptional venue, the Roman theatre, a vestige of our history. Come and sit where your ancestors sat before you and soak up a part of their history!
Augustodunum is 1000 costumes, 600 fireworks and a stage the size of the Stade de France.

An exceptional show requires an exceptional voice to open the gates of time:

Passionate about history, Stéphane Bern has presented a number of programmes devoted to French history and heritage, and in the 2000s became a key figure on the audiovisual landscape. In 2016, he founded the "Fondation Stéphane Bern pour l'histoire et le patrimoine-Institut", with the aim of strengthening his commitment to history and heritage and ensuring that his work continues over time. For him, this role is an opportunity to do useful work to encourage citizens to defend the teaching of history and safeguard heritage. With this in mind, it was only natural that he agreed to lend us his voice for the prologue to our new show in Autun.

*Knives, glass bottles and chairs are not permitted.

*A space and a car park are reserved for people with reduced mobility. It is imperative to report to the security barriers in order to gain access to the entrance with your vehicle.

You can also opt for a guided tour prior to the show:

Founded solely by the Emperor Augustus, to whom it owes its name, Autun was built at the end of the 1st century BC to accommodate the Aedui people of Bibracte.
"Sister and emulator of Rome" is Autun's motto. Augustodunum was one of the jewels in the crown of Gallo-Roman cultural and commercial life.
Your guide will bring to life the prestige of this ancient city as you visit the Gallo-Roman monuments: the ancient theatre, the Porte Saint-André, the Temple of Janus, the ramparts and the Temple of Apollo.

This one-hour tour includes your seat for the evening show.
This package, which will take you back in time, is only available on Friday and Saturday evenings when the show is on.
