Journées européennes du patrimoine : marteau-pilon

At 10.00 am: storytelling session ‘150 years… is that old?’. Children aged 6 and over set off on a journey through time that will allow them to discover the epic story of steel and imagine life in Le Creusot in the days of that strange contraption known as the hammer mill! Duration: approximately 30 minutes.

At 10.45 am and 2.30 pm: guided tour. Find out everything there is to know about the symbol of the town of Le Creusot to mark the 150th anniversary of its construction! From the filing of the patent in 1841 to its installation in the Tennis district in 1969, its history is closely linked to that of the town. Duration: approximately 30 minutes.

From 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm: “Design your own hammer mill!” workshop. Young and old alike are invited to engage with this monument through drawing and Lego building. Start with a model and follow the instructions, or let your imagination run wild to create the zaniest hammer mill ever!
