In Burgundy-Franche-Comté, Les Métaboles will be inviting amateur and professional choirs, instrumental ensembles and, in particular, the Garde Républicaine to present a wide-ranging programme of concerts, singing tours, workshops and musical events that will showcase the richness of choral singing in Autun.
Free and open to all, Chants libres takes over buildings, natural sites, theatres, schools and even hospitals, with a repertoire of world music, jazz, sacred songs, contemporary creations, traditional and regional songs, to promote choral singing and offer everyone a moment of joy, sharing and solidarity.
The Bettencourt Schueller Foundation is both a family foundation and, since its inception, has been recognised as being in the public interest. Its aim is to "give wings to talent" in order to contribute to France's success and influence. To achieve this, it supports projects in three areas that make a tangible contribution to the common good: life sciences, the arts and solidarity. Through the Chants libres festival, the Foundation is pursuing three major objectives: promoting artistic excellence, developing choral singing and democratising access to choral singing.
