Maï-Lan and Mokette de LAVERNETTE have joined forces to create an immersive installation dedicated to ‘Shibori’ paper. Let yourself be enchanted by the delicate art of Japanese paper folding and dyeing, where each work – at once fragile and vibrant – becomes an invitation to contemplation and tranquillity.

The play of light filtering through the paper screens, the organic patterns of the kakemonos, the carousels suspended like ephemeral constellations, and the ex-votos laden with symbols: each piece is unique and forms part of a scenography where the enigmatic becomes poetry. The colours, by turns soft and deep, interact with the transparency of the materials, creating an atmosphere where time seems to stand still.

This exhibition is set against the backdrop of the Saint-Aubin Chapel, a former remnant of Saint-Lazare Cathedral and a little-known gem of Autun’s heritage.
