49è Fête de la Vielle

For nearly 50 years, this event has been the unmissable summer highlight in the Morvan, offering three days and three nights of festivities in Anost. Every year, traditional music from here and further afield brings together thousands of festival-goers in the spirit of the ‘Fête de la Vielle’ – a spirit of exchange, sharing and celebration!

The event features numerous artists performing in concerts and workshops, as well as leading the dances, alongside open stages, introductions to traditional dancing, hurdy-gurdy workshops (for beginners and experienced players), bagpipe lessons, traditional dance classes, talks, shows, films, workshops on the bourrée and Morvan couple dances, a Young Talent competition and small ensemble performances, a stringed instrument makers’ market, and the festival’s ‘off-programme’ with impromptu jam sessions in the village streets!
