    Our ATELIER RURAL, the brainchild of the Spire Création Association, has just celebrated its 24th anniversary.
    Originally set up in Ligny en Brionnais, in the south of Saône et Loire between Marcigny and Charlieu, the Association welcomed its students and trainees in a renovated stable with whitewashed walls. Some people didn't hesitate to come from Gueugnon, Macon, Roanne, Paray le Monial and Marcigny to take part in the sessions and courses.

    Today, our Association is based in Saint Emiland and pursues the same objective, that of ENLIGHTENING THE CREATIVE POTENTIAL that lies dormant in everyone, developing TRAINING in PLASTIC ARTS, contributing to LEISURE and promoting INTERGENERATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS; indeed, what could be more delightful than to see people over 75 and young people or children meeting, everyone finds something to do and the exchanges are enriching!

    WORKSHOPS FROM THE AGE OF 5 often begin with a story chosen to STIMULATE IMAGINATION, and then give free rein to free and accompanied expression: drawing, painting with gouache or coloured pencils, collage, making little books, postcards, masks, etc., depending on what the children like and the time of year.

    WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS: Deepening your understanding of volumes and composition to highlight strong points, light and shade, identifying how shapes and colours affect OUR EMOTIONS and how to express them, practising the complementarity of COLOURS and creating harmonies - this is the programme of the courses. Each participant is guided in the discovery of new painting techniques to enhance their PERSONAL EXPRESSION and CREATIVITY;
    At the end of each day's course, there's a time for sharing the day's experience and preparing for the next day.
    No subject is taboo, and depending on your motivations, the workshop will welcome on its easels : Animals from the countryside or the jungle, Boats, Landscapes, Compositions of objects or floral compositions... Documentary studies of objects found or not in nature... Live models or fashion design. All techniques are covered: Gouache, Charcoal and sanguine, Pastel, Acrylic, Watercolour, Mixed media...

    Workshops and courses take place in a CONVIVIAL - and temperate! - setting, with a large GARDEN FLOWERED AND WOODED for breaks. Micheyle MARLIER takes great pleasure in guiding each trainee towards the success of their individual and/or group project.

    Young people who so wish can prepare for the Art Schools, and will be offered support in preparing their application for selection by a jury.
    Home workshops can be organised on request for people with reduced mobility or disabilities.

    MICHEYLE MARLIER is a Visual Arts teacher. She is also a fashion designer and professional trainer for young people and adults, a popular education facilitator and a storyteller. As part of the Ateliers Spire Création programme, she has worked on a number of artistic projects with associations in the Saône et Loire and Autunois regions. For a number of years, she has worked with the French education system on artistic projects for children aged 3 to 12.
    She has exhibited at the Grand Palais and in galleries in Paris and the provinces, and has won a number of prizes. But she no longer exhibits, preferring to devote herself to her students and her work as a studio artist and portrait painter, which she particularly enjoys.
