Drawn to nature from a very young age, Armelle chose a career in environmental work. After spending a few years helping the general public to discover nature, she then turned to teaching. She went on to work in this profession for around twenty years. The idea of a new career change arose from a desire to return to the land, coupled with a passion for creating things by hand.

She then decided to explore basket-making through a work placement, inspired by memories of her grandfather’s baskets. It was a revelation! Working with wicker, from its production to its transformation, became her goal. The need for formal training therefore seemed obvious to her. For a year, she undertook the ‘Agricultural Business Manager’ vocational qualification at the National School of Wickerwork and Basketry in Fayl-Billot (52).

With her diploma in hand, she embarked on a career in agriculture and craftsmanship, close to nature. She wishes to play her part in preserving our environment through agricultural practices that respect biodiversity and by creating objects using natural materials.

Originally from Burgundy, Armelle has her roots in the Morvan, where she spent many holidays in Autun with her grandparents. It is a region to which she has always felt a very strong attachment. Her project has therefore led her to settle in Reclesne, where she has set up her wicker farm and basket-making workshop.

She welcomes you there to show you her creations. Armelle offers traditional, functional wickerwork. She is also developing a more contemporary style, combining wicker with leather, metal and other materials. She enjoys creating decorative items to bring a warm atmosphere to your homes.
