La Certenue

in Mesvres
  • The summit of the Certenue mountain reaches 611 metres. Nearby, a terrace reveals a miraculous fountain and a chapel dedicated to the Virgin and placed under the name of Our Lady of the Snows, this chapel is the vestige of a cult linked to fertility and whose pilgrimage took place at Pentecost. A mass is still celebrated there on Whit Monday. La Certenue is also a departure point for microlight and paragliders, which take advantage of the height to admire the Mesvrin landscape from the air....
