Cité des Présents-François Mitterrand

Situated in the heart of the Morvan, the Cité des Présents-François Mitterrand is a cultural centre in Château-Chinon that brings together the museums of fashion and presidential gifts. The museums have been completely refurbished and the visitor routes redesigned, offering visitors an enriched experience across nearly 2,000 m² of exhibition space.
The collections, which blend fashion, craftsmanship, diplomatic history and items that are as rare as they are unusual, bear witness to François Mitterrand’s deep attachment to his region, its culture, its people and to France.

Set within a remarkable natural setting, the Cité des Présents-François Mitterrand fosters a dialogue between past and present – a moment
of wonder that combines exceptional craftsmanship with the memory of France’s heritage.

Throughout 2026, the Cité des Présents-François Mitterrand will offer a diverse cultural programme (workshops, talks, concerts and performances), particularly during school holidays and national events such as ‘Rendez-vous aux jardins’ or the European Heritage Days.
