Béatrice and Michaël welcome you to their authentic, fully restored 18th-century farmhouse, nestled peacefully on the edge of a lane in a tranquil, typical, and perfectly preserved residential hamlet, just a stone's throw from the renowned Château de Couches, a magnificent 13th-century building known as "Marguerite of Burgundy, Queen of France's Château" (a former medieval fortress of the Duchy of Burgundy, listed as a French historical monument). Enjoy complete tranquility in a soothing wooded valley where a small, fish-filled river flows, nestled at the edge of a small forest beneath the bucolic hillsides of neighboring vineyards, dotted with fields and meadows that overlook the village and the gentle Creuse Valley. Nestled in the heart of the rolling vineyards (protected as a ZNIEFF area and various Natura 2000 sites for its rich flora and fauna), this sublime, unspoiled landscape unfolds as a succession of vine-covered hills, hedged meadows, and beautiful wild forests. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful. Located near the heart of Couches, a picturesque medieval wine-growing village brimming with charm, situated on the route of the ancient Roman road "Agrippa," it boasts exceptional heritage and numerous amenities. The comfortable cottage offers a warm, rustic character with contemporary touches, blending seamlessly with the utterly captivating atmosphere of a traditional rural home. A peaceful and tranquil ambiance awaits. A lovely sheltered balcony-terrace overlooks a superb 2000m² "park," meticulously landscaped with lawn, greenery, flowers, and trees—a perfect, safe "play area" for children. It offers two gravel terraces (one bordering a small pond with goldfish, frogs, and salamanders), a ping-pong table, and a rare and unusual rounded stone "agora" nestled in the undergrowth—a delightful spot reminiscent of a Celtic altar, naturally shaded for enjoying the cool air or a refreshing nap in summer!
