It's the 2nd century in Augustodunum, a prestigious city in this old Gallic country that has been completely Romanised... At the heart of this bare-bones story, as simple as a belief or a legend, Symphorien d'Autun stands out as a new light... It's the story of two worlds facing each other: it's Rome in the midst of Roman Peace, proudly displaying its values, that confronts the first converts to the word of Christ. It's an unequal battle, but one in which the vanquished, led to the supreme punishment, will become the victor some time later, and for centuries and centuries to come... Symphorien thus became the patron saint of Autun.
