Our rural workshop, created by the Spire Création Association, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Originally set up in Ligny en Brionnais, in the south of the Saône et Loire between Marcigny and Charlieu, the Association welcomed its students and trainees for many years in a renovated stable with whitewashed walls. Some people didn't hesitate to come from Gueugnon, Macon, Roanne, Paray le Monial and Marcigny to take part in the sessions and courses.

Some people didn't hesitate to come from Gueugnon, Macon, Roanne, Paray le Monial and Marcigny to take part in the sessions and courses.
Today, our rural workshop is based at the Pont d'Argent site in St Emiland, with the same objective: to awaken the creative potential that lies dormant in all of us, to develop training in the plastic arts, to contribute to leisure activities and to encourage intergenerational relations. In fact, what could be more satisfying than to see people over 75 meeting young people or children? There's something for everyone, and the exchanges are enriching! Our students and trainees currently come from Beaune, Lyon, Montceau, Montbard, St Léger sous Beuvray, St Jean de Trézy, Mesvres, Autun and Couches.
The workshops for children aged 5 and over often begin with a story chosen to stimulate the imagination. She then gives free rein to free and accompanied expression: drawing, painting with gouache or watercolour, collage, making little books, postcards, masks, etc. depending on what the children want and the time of year.
The workshops for young adults develop understanding and transposition, the practice of colours and harmonies, the history of art...
No subject is taboo, and depending on your motivations, the workshop will welcome on its easels: Animals from the countryside or the jungle, Boats, Landscapes, Compositions of objects or Floral compositions... Documentary studies of objects found in nature... Live model or Fashion drawing, Comics...
All techniques can be approached: Gouache, Charcoal, Sanguine, Pastel, Acrylic, Watercolour, Mixed media...
Workshops and courses take place in a friendly, temperate setting, with a large garden full of flowers and woodland available for breaks.
MICHEYLE MARLIER takes great pleasure in working with each student to ensure the success of their individual and/or group project.
MICHEYLE MARLIER is an art teacher, popular education project leader and storyteller. She is a fashion designer (her childhood dream) and a professional trainer for young people and adults. As part of the Ateliers Spire Création programme, she has worked on a number of artistic projects with associations, including the Foyers Ruraux du 71 and associations in the Autunois area. She has worked with teachers from the French national education system and private schools on art projects for children aged 3 to 12.
She has exhibited with the Artistes Français at the Grand Palais and in galleries in Paris and the provinces. She has won numerous prizes. She no longer exhibits, preferring to devote her time to her students, her studio work and her work as a portrait painter, which she particularly enjoys.
