Collectif Orties

Verdire" brings together three visual artists from Collectif Orties. The performance is the fruit of an ongoing creative process, combining gesture, movement, song and the words of the American writer Starhawk. In addition, there was time spent with people from workshops held in Autun on the theme of rituals and meals, schoolchildren, elderly people from retirement homes and people from a social centre.

Commensality, that sharing around the table, is at the heart of this proposal.

The Orties collective is rooted in a rural area where life is omnipresent. Every new day, the artists meet around and off the table, the object that connects us, on and off the tablecloth, the fabric that marks and remembers.

"The forces of destruction seem great, but against them we have the power to choose, our human will and imagination, our courage, our passion, our impatience to act and to love. And we are not in truth at a distance from this world. We are part of the circle.

When we plant, when we weave, when we write, when we give birth, when we organise, when we care, when we run through the park in the mist exhaled by the redwoods, when we do what we are afraid to do, we are not alone. We are part of the world and with each other, and our power from within is great, even if it is not invincible.
