Designed by the Bishop of Autun, Monseigneur Gabriel de Roquette, the building is representative of the region, with its typical Burgundy roof and French-style gardens designed by the royal landscape gardener Le Notre.
Unfortunately, during the French Revolution, the buildings were looted and damaged.
