After its creation in 1673, the play "Le Malade imaginaire" remained in the repertoire of the Théâtre -Français (forerunner of the Comédie-Française). To this day, this comedy is one of the most frequently performed plays at the Comédie-Française, with over 2,400 performances since its creation.
