Nestling at the bottom of the verdant Méchet valley and its fish-filled river, in the heart of a splendid setting of gentle mountain scenery dotted with deep, wild forests (ideal for relaxing walks or mountain bike rides), the small market town of La Grande Verrière (one of the oldest villages in the Morvan, 3.5 km away) is home to a remarkable heritage (medieval castles, some of which are in ruins, and manor houses) and offers a sublime, unspoilt environment of greenery and nature. Very comfortable gîte. Warm country charm enhanced by careful restoration of its heritage (period stone, brick & wood lintels, magnificent original stone vaulted ceiling on the kitchen side, beams....). A totally exotic atmosphere in an ancient residence steeped in history. Lots of charm & lots of character. Large gravel terrace opening onto a pleasant lawned garden. Access to a private tennis court a stone's throw away (shared by the 2 gîtes on the property).
