-
Open to all, this natural area is a place for preserving and sharing, where people can relax and enjoy each other's company. Everyone can go for a walk, stop for a picnic, read in the shade of the trees or enjoy a moment with the family. With its many species of fruit trees and a stream running through it, it is a haven of peace for the people of Autun, where you can pick your own fruit and add to the town's natural heritage.

Jean Roidot-Déléage, a key figure in the life of Autun, was a man of many talents: entomologist, botanist, archaeologist and architect. As the town's resident architect and town councillor for many years, he left a deep mark on local history. He had a particular passion for the study of butterflies, and left behind some invaluable work, which has been found in the archives of the Société éduenne (on display at the Natural History Museum in Autun). These documents make it possible to retrace the career of a man who devoted his life to science, nature and the service of his community.
By naming this garden after him, the City of Autun is paying tribute to the memory of Jean Roidot-Déléage and offering present and future generations a place where heritage, nature and transmission can come together.
