  • I find the vital expression of painting in compositions that reflect the moment, the emotion, the wind and the sound of the sea.

  • The idea of combining beauty and fragility came to me at a time when I realised how fragile we all are and how important it is to highlight our sensitivities.

The choice of pâte de verre and this intense, luminous copper blue, combined with solid materials, allowed me to explore this path.

The idea of combining beauty and fragility came to me at a time when I realised how fragile we all are and how important it is to highlight our sensitivities.

The choice of pâte de verre and this intense, luminous copper blue, combined with solid materials, allowed me to explore this path.

After fifteen years and many exhibitions on three continents, I began to turn the page with Prussian blue, the colour of cyanotypes. I began by working with translucent objects that I had made in pâte de verre. I started making them in the summer of 2024 in the sunny garden of Cotentin. At the same time, I found my old box of watercolours and went to paint on the beach. There are lines, colours and illegible calligraphies that are composed like a piece of music. They are 'songs'. They reflect the moment, the emotion, the wind and the sound of the sea.

Then I discovered Ezra Pound's Cantos, works of total poetry, striking, unforgettable, sometimes difficult to access but so revitalising. For me, they are an essential work of the 20th century. I was able to pay tribute to them by naming the greatest pieces of the 'Cantos'. It was a refreshing read and gave me the desire to continue the adventure.

I've rediscovered the vital expression of painting after a 15-year hiatus. It allows me to explore a complex expression rich in paradoxes.

Thanks to the Cantos and the paintings, emotions and representations can be more intense and reflect or take into account the terrible events that are happening around us: Gaza, Ukraine: Cantos XXII and XXIV, painting 6M-180925, for example.
