  • Somewhere between science and art, photography often reveals what was previously hidden, but also hides part of reality.

  • When photography first appeared in the 19th century, it seemed at first to be a faithful reflection of reality. However, it soon became apparent that it cut through reality to make room for an element of the imaginary. It could then become a tool for scientific research, revealing what remained hidden, and an art form in which the imaginary came into play.
