Conférence sur la Commune de 1871 au Creusot

Lecture by Patrick Serre, historian.

To honour the 155th anniversary of the Commune of 1871, Beaune historian Patrick Serre, the Association 26 mars 1871 - Le Creusot and its President Alain Rolland are organising this public lecture, which is open to all.

The historian, writer and lecturer will introduce the public to the extraordinary story of the Le Creusot Commune, which was proclaimed on 26 March 1871, and the charismatic figure of Jean-Baptiste Dumay.

Going back to the origins of the Creusot Commune, he will recall the turning point of the workers' strikes of 1869/1870, the insurrection of March 1871 and the trial of the Communards in June 1871.
