Concert/Show STEFAN PATRY quintet « ATOMIC B3 » TRIBUTE TO COUNT BASIE & DUKE ELLINGTON

Stefan Patry on Hammond B3 organ and vocals will be accompanied by a host of talented musicians:

The orchestra around the Hammond organ sounds like a real big band. These exceptional musicians are totally inhabited by jazz, the pure swing that made a whole generation dance and that continues to be perpetuated to the young, in legendary places like the famous Caveau de la Huchette in Paris where Stefan Patry's combo ATOMIC B3 performs regularly. The quintet performs the greatest standards from the famous Atomic Basie album, released in 1958, with tunes like Splanky, Li'l Darlin', Flight of the foo birds, and the famous April in Paris arranged by organist Wild Bill Davis, as well as the greatest hits from Duke Elligton's big band, including Caravan, In a mellow tone, C jam blues, Satin Doll, etc. An explosive concert of pure swing and shared joy!

Stefan Patry biography:
"A fully-fledged organist, Stefan Patry plays the Hammond organ in all its guises; the 2 keyboards enhanced by the bass pedalboard. Acknowledged as one of the instrument's specialists, Stefan Patry has been performing on the world's stages for over 35 years. A revelation at the 2004 Juan les Pins Jazz Festival, where he replaced Jimmy Smith at short notice, he has recorded more than 15 CDs under his own name, in France, the United States, Africa and Armenia. Stéfan PATRY is what we call a passionate musician; inspired by the different colours of music; rooted in the pure tradition of the Hammond organ, he also knows how to mix with other cultures. In 1996, Stéfan PATRY founded the Tribute to Hammond association, bringing together all lovers and practitioners of this legendary instrument from the 60s and 70s. He has also organised the famous Ruées Vers l'Orgue, bringing together up to 10 organists on the same stage. A disciple of the great Rhoda Scott, Stéfan PATRY knows how to make the Hammond organ sound in all its states, from the calmest to the most volcanic.
