Bibracte's Fantastic Picnic. This year, Bibracte celebrates the museum's 30th anniversary, giving you the chance to rediscover it through the eyes of its architect, Pierre-Louis Faloci. After a hearty breakfast, follow the guides on a hike to discover the hidden landscapes of Beuvray and sample some tasty produce along the way. At lunchtime, local producers will be on hand at the market at the summit to offer you some delicious treats. The Fantastic Picnic also features music, thanks to a partnership with Fleurs de Jazz. Take your time, breathe, enjoy: you're on the Bibracte - Morvan des Sommets Grand Site de France.
From midday onwards, you'll be able to pack a picnic lunch as you stroll around the market stalls set up by local producers. Remember to bring your own crockery.
- From 8.30am - coffee reception at Le Chaudron and start of the walks (bookings required 03 85 86 52 40). Two gourmet walks of 7 and 10 km, accompanied by Bibracte guides, with a gourmet break offered by producers around Beuvray.
The walks are free, but registration is required and numbers are limited. Reservations must be made before September 1 by calling 03.85.86.52.40.
From 12.30pm - hikers arrive at the summit of Beuvray.
Musical entertainment, in partnership with Fleurs de Jazz en Morvan, you will discover BABZ, a group made up of Philippe Bouveret saxophone, Jean-Claude André trumpet, flugelhorn, Hervé Berger drums, Laurent Zemp tuba. Different cultures are brought together here. Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America spring to mind. Styles, modal colours and characteristic rhythms come together, the pulse sometimes slipping away to allow a weightless melody to emerge, but improvisation plays an essential role in this pictorial, dynamic and poetic musical journey...
Then the stage opens up to musicians from all horizons, who will make you want to dance on the mountain!
You can return to your vehicle on foot whenever you like.
