The FASCINATING WEEKEND of Côtes du Couchois

The Fascinating Couchois Coast Weekend

The first edition of the fascinating Couchois wine weekend takes place in Autun. This initiative by the Côtes du Couchois winegrowers and Vignobles et Découvertes label holders was born of a desire to create a festive event in Grand Autunois Morvan around our winegrowing wealth.
For this first edition, we’re offering a program rich in discovery.

“The Fascinating Weekend” what is it?

Unusual evenings, music in the vineyards, gourmet hikes, lake cruises, dinners with Michelin-starred chefs, heritage discoveries…

Visit the various Vignobles & Découvertes label wine destinations for a Fascinating weekend.

In Couchois, this is the 1st edition. This initiative by the Côtes du Couchois winegrowers and Vignobles et Découvertes label holders was born of a desire to create a festive event in Grand Autunois Morvan around our rich winegrowing heritage.

The national concept

Program

For this first edition, we propose a program rich in discovery.

Start your weekend with a food and wine pairing evening at the Cocand cellar where Couchois wines will be honored and the cuisine will be inspired by these wines.
Table reservations required by phone: 07-86-47-99-08.

Continue your weekend with a tasting day at the Villa Médicis in Autun.
During this festive weekend, you’ll discover the wines and appellations of the Côtes du Couchois with around twenty winemakers and fifty wines from our territory. The winemakers will be gathered in this 17th-century cloister for a tasting of their products. The tasting will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Lunch will be available on site.

Billetterie

The Benoit Laly winery opens its doors to you for an evening lecture hosted by Dr Florian Mourey, who will introduce you to the history of the Couchois vineyards. You’ll learn about the origins of this terroir and the strong link between Autun and Couches. This lecture will be followed by a gourmet dinner.

If you prefer music, the Wine Oclock is the place to be. Researcher Adrian North has shown in a study that “during a tasting, background music alters the perception of a wine’s flavors. Depending on the mood, the atmosphere expressed, music activates sensory areas of the brain, stimulating taste receptors, giving them a wider palette and more finesse”.
Our proposal is to combine this wine tasting with a tasting of Baroque music chosen according to the wines tasted, restored by the particular flavor of our historic instruments (traverso & harpsichord), the 2 tastings thus mutually enriching each other in the presence of Messrs Bach, Couperin, Handel, Rameau, Locatelli, Vivaldi, Telemann and Mozart.
