The archaeological site of Bibracte

At the top of Mont Beuvray, covered with 1,000 hectares of forest, a large Gallic town has been uncovered by archaeologists. Surrounded by ramparts, Bibracte was the capital of one of the most powerful peoples of Gaul, the Eduens. Today classified as Historic Monuments and Sites and Grand Site of France, Bibracte is the subject each year of excavation sites welcoming researchers from all over Europe, open from June to October.

The Château de Couches known as Marguerite de Bourgogne is listed as a Historic Monument. This beautiful medieval fortified castle, built in the 11th century by one of the lords of Couches, can be visited (free visit), from its keep to the underground passages through the Maitresse tower, the chapel, the vegetable and medieval gardens, its romantic park and its tasting cellar.

Château de Sully

More than a castle, a home! The Château de Sully has been the home of the Mac Mahon family since the 18th century. Still inhabited by the Duchess of Magenta and her children, the castle opens its doors for a timeless moment during a guided tour of the furnished interiors or simply for a free stroll in the park and vegetable garden in permaculture. Birthplace of Marshal & President of Mac Mahon, the visit is punctuated by family anecdotes and historical facts!

La Boulaye

The Buddhist Temple

Himalayan style, the Buddhist temple Paldenshangpa de la Boulaye was founded in 1974 by a Tibetan lama. Raised on three levels, it hosts gigantic statues of Buddhas and many vibrant paintings of colors. Stroll through its garden adorned with colorful banners and a stupa, a pyramid-shaped Tibetan cult monument. All year round, you can visit the park, the temple gallery, the shop and attend rituals with songs and music at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Two stone lions guard the gate preceded by a bridge. Four round towers (13th century) protect the main building (15th, 17th century) pierced on the exterior facade of a few mullioned windows in opposition to the numerous openings on the facade of the courtyard.
The satirical gentleman Roger de Rabutin (Histoire amoureuse des Gaules), cousin of Madame de Sévigné, was born there in 1618.

Morlet Castle

Located between Beaune and Autun, at the border between Côte d'Or and Saône-et-Loire, Castle of Morlet is relatively unknown today. The different buildings that compose it are nevertheless of interest quite remarkable. The entire park and castle are registered as historical monuments.

Château de Savigny-le-Vieux

Orthodoxe monastery Saint-Hilaire and John Damascene

This center was founded by iconographer and Hieromonk Father Luc Devoisin-Lagarde. It is open to visitors and has a chapel, a dining hall with frescoes, an exhibition hall, a Byzantine religious art workshop. Shop on site.
