Sully

Château de Sully

"The most beautiful courtyard of the kingdom's castle ...". Dream of the French Renaissance, Sully and its towers are gently reflected in the water of the moats that surround it. In this beautiful timeless family castle was born the famous Maréchal de Mac Mahon, 1st Duke of Magenta and one of the first presidents of the French Republic. Today inhabited by her descendants, the Duchess of Magenta and her children, Sully breathes the history of France mixed with the joy of life. Do not miss an indulgent trip to the vegetable patch or the tasting of wines from the Chassagne-Montrachet family vineyard. Warm interior: furniture, tapestries ... English park, vegetable garden, orangery, stables. The park created in the 17th century, revised in the 18th and 19th, was redesigned by the landscape architect Achille Duchêne in the 20th century. This romantic park includes hundred-year-old orange trees in boxes, a permaculture vegetable garden and various elements such as a fishpond, a reflecting pool, a cooler, a Polish wash house and a dovecote, as well as a 12th century chapel.
