  • Two young, somewhat naive newlyweds face the dizziness of the marriage bed.

Two young, somewhat naive newlyweds face the dizziness of the marriage bed.
Count Gontran de Boismassif and Hélène de la Cerisaie are newlyweds. From a very good family, they have received the best possible education: she in a convent, he with his tutor. They are prepared to meet the world! However, they find themselves at a loss on their wedding night: what are two spouses supposed to do, alone, in a bedroom? What are they supposed to do alone in a bedroom, gossip and stare into each other's eyes? Are there any gaps in Gontran's perfect education?
Quentin Gibelin and Alice Masson do not sulk in their pleasure of sharing this grotesque farce to rediscover a little-played music (composed by Emmanuel Chabrier, contemporary and rival of Offenbach) and to laugh at a story that speaks of our shortcomings. If the narrative takes place in a time before, it is with the eyes of today that the operetta can be enjoyed today, with generosity, glitter and strass and even a few thunderbolts.
