The first edition of the fascinating Couchois wine weekend is taking place in Autun. This initiative by the Côtes du Couchois winegrowers and the Vignobles et Découvertes label holders was born of a desire to create a festive event in Greater Autunois Morvan around our rich wine-growing heritage. For this first edition, we are offering you a programme packed with discoveries.

Start your weekend with a wine and food pairing evening at the Cocand cellar, where Couchois wines will be given pride of place and the cuisine will be inspired by these wines.

Continue your weekend with a wine-tasting day at the Villa Médicis in Autun.
During this festive weekend, you'll discover the wines and appellations of the Côtes du Couchois with around twenty winemakers and fifty wines from our region. The winemakers will be gathered in this 17th century cloister for you to taste their products. The tasting will take place from 10am to 6pm. Lunch will be available on site.
The weekend's not over yet, so it's time for the evenings!
The Benoit Laly winery will be hosting an evening lecture by Dr Florian Mourey on the history of the Couchois vineyards. You'll learn about the origins of this terroir and the strong link between Autun and Couches. The talk will be followed by a gourmet dinner.
If you prefer music, the Wine Oclock is the place to be. Researcher Adrian North has shown in a study that "during a wine tasting session, the background music modifies the perception of the flavours of a wine. Depending on the mood, the atmosphere expressed, the music activates the sensory areas of the brain, stimulating the taste receptors, giving them a wider palette and greater finesse".
Our proposal is to combine this wine tasting with a tasting of Baroque music chosen to match the wines tasted, brought to life by the special flavour of our historic instruments (traverso & harpsichord). The 2 tastings will be mutually enriching, with the presence of Bach, Couperin, Handel, Rameau, Locatelli, Vivaldi, Telemann and Mozart. Included in the price: 2 glasses of wine and 1 board.
