A malevolent, deceitful spirit, protector of treasure, dangerous to people, symbol of evil and associated with the underworld, it is often the incarnation of absolute evil. Yet this mythological being continues to fascinate generations and the collective imagination, and is now the protagonist of successful TV series, films and video games. We'll take a look at the history of the dragon myth, punctuated by classical and Scandinavian mythological tales, and analyse the evolution of its appearance, ending with a brief foray into pop-culture.
