Foire des Galvachers

The Galvachers were migrant carters who, from May to October each year, travelled to the neighbouring regions of the Morvan to sell their services, accompanied by their "red Morvan" oxen. This trade and this breed of oxen have not lasted over time, but the traditional cattle fair organised in November has been revived through an annual Galvachers' Fair, a few weeks before Christmas.
During this day, the Comité des Fêtes d'Anost opens the fair with cattle and sheep competitions in the morning, and allows the general public to shop for local food and crafts throughout the afternoon.
