From Chaos came the World with its share of risks and unforeseen events in fields as varied as the arts, sciences and philosophy, a concept that the quartet of the same name applies in its performances.
Recently awarded (May 2022) the Second Prize and the Prize for the best performance of Kaija Saariaho's "Terra Memoria" at the prestigious Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition, the Chaos String Quartet is thus laying the foundations for a future international career, having also won the Second Prize at the Bartok Competition and the First Prize at the Premio V. E. Rimbotti Prize in 2021.
The Austrian quartet has already performed at the festivals of Davos, Ravenna, van Vlaanderen in Ghent, Musica Insieme Bologna, Festival Academy Budapest, Festival del Quartetto Firenze, Lockenhaus, Wien Modern and the Heidelberger Streichquartettfest. In 2022/2023 he will be heard in Austria, France, Germany, Hungary and the UK.
Trained by the best teachers such as Eberhard Feltz, Patrick Jüdt, Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartet), András Keller (Keller Quartet) and Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartet), and Johannes Meissl in Vienna as part of the ECMAster programme, the quartet has also taken a postgraduate course at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with the Cuarteto Casals.
The Chaos String Quartet is a member of the chamber music association Le Dimore del Quartetto and the New Austrian Sound of Music, working on multi-arts forms.
