Concert "Les Noces royales de Louis XIV"

1660, Saint-Jean-de-Luz: the nuptials of love and peace of the young LouisXIV and the Infanta Maria-Theresa of Austria. To open the concert, Vincent Dumestre and the Poème Harmonique recreate the unprecedented splendour of the festivities that accompanied these celebrations, all the way to Versailles. The King's Cornets will open the concert from the Basilica forecourt, while the church will play host to the symphony. Finally, the most beautiful extracts from Cavalli's Il Xerse and the accompanying Symphonies de Monsieur by Lully will allow us to hear the opera that celebrated the return of the bride and groom to their Château.
